Job summary

Edmentum is seeking a Virtual Chemistry Teacher to deliver live, on-camera instruction from a remote setting, connecting with students in real time and personalizing learning for each learner. This role focuses on synchronous daily teaching, data-informed instruction, and building strong relationships with students, families, and partner schools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education and an active New Jersey state teaching license in Chemistry grades 6-12.
• Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings, comfortable with live online classrooms.
• On-camera teaching for five or more consecutive hours daily, building real connections through a screen.
• Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
• Data-informed: read student performance data and adjust live instruction accordingly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, meeting students and families where they are.
• Highly organized, self-directed, able to manage a full remote caseload.
• Committed to professional growth, maintaining certification and current K-12 curriculum knowledge.
• Integrity, warmth, and belief that every student can succeed; willing to adapt responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours per day on scheduled instructional days.
• Personalize instruction using student performance data to address learning gaps.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records for students and families.
• Build genuine relationships with students and families through proactive communication.
• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
