Job summary

MADD New Jersey is seeking a Victim Services Advocate to manage a caseload of survivors of alcohol and drugged driving, delivering crisis intervention, emotional support, and referrals for long-term needs. You will provide court accompaniment and guidance with legal, financial, and medical systems.

This is a remote position with residency required in Ocean, Burlington, Camden, or Atlantic County. The salary is $52,000, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g. social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice) with at least one year of victim advocacy experience.
• Equivalent experience in victim advocacy and/or grief support may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments for emotional support and referrals for victims/survivors of drunk and drugged driving.
• Maintain ongoing assessment of coping and need for referrals.
• Develop and implement tailored case management plans including grief support and referrals for long-term issues and group support.
• Provide court accompaniment and advocacy to protect victims' rights in legal proceedings.
• Perform community needs assessments and determine appropriate victim services and events.
• Create outreach strategies to reach victims who may not be aware of MADD Victim Services.
• Build networks with legal, medical, and social service systems to facilitate victim assistance.
• Recruit, train, deploy, and recognize volunteers supporting Victim Services initiatives.
• Support fundraising efforts to benefit MADD New Jersey and secure donations.
