Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Biometrics to lead biostatistics, clinical programming, and data management within the Clinical Development portfolio, driving scientific direction and delivery.

Reporting to the VP of Data & Analytics, this role shapes strategy, oversees regulatory interactions, and partners across Development teams to optimize data strategy and trial design. Travel up to 15% may be required; the position emphasizes leadership, accountability, and

Qualifications

• Experience leading Biometrics or a Biometrics business unit in pharma.
• Experience supporting clinical portfolios across therapeutic areas.
• Line management of a multi-function organization with managers.
• Budget management including resourcing and outsourcing.
• Regulatory in-person interaction, e.g. Scientific Advice, Advisory Committees.
• Proven ability to drive large organizational change and deliver results.
• Up to 15% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and scientific direction to Biometrics for strong engagement and operational excellence.
• Review protocols, analysis plans and submission documents; engage in health authority interactions.
• Drive efficient delivery of the Clinical Development portfolio through resourcing and timelines.
• Participate in portfolio governance and provide strategic direction based on regulations and precedence.
• Develop and lead a digital approach for clinical data generation (e.g., mHealth).
• Model best practices for scientific engagement and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Attract, retain, and develop Biometrics talent; empower teams and stakeholders.

Education

Doctorate degree in Biostatistics or related field

Minimum 15 years pharmaceutical industry experience

Minimum 10 years leadership experience
