Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Vendor Management Analyst to serve as a business representative for vendor relations, contract negotiations, and cross‑group process improvements. This role supports complex projects, analyzes data, and ensures effective risk management across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will manage vendor performance, drive process improvements, and collaborate with IT and business teams while maintaining strong communication with executives.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Other Related Degree.
• High school/GED with 5+ years related work experience.
• Bachelors degree in Other Related Degree or equivalent.
• 4-Year Bachelor Degree in Technical or Business related field preferred.
• Experience in the utility industry is desired.
• Very good written and oral communication skills.
• Awareness of project management theories and principles.
• Proficient in planning, data analysis, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support day-to-day operations across vendors.
• Manage vendor relationships and issue escalation with partnership focus.
• Direct strategic reviews and planning sessions when applicable.
• Serve as executive escalation point for Duke and vendor within assigned area of accountability; provide solutions when needed.
• Facilitate sharing of best practices between all Duke call centers (internal and external).
• Address performance opportunities with vendor leadership; drive sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure contractual performance targets and SLAs are met.
• Drive operational metrics to assess trends and performance.
• Identify risks, issues and root causes impacting vendor performance; communicate with Duke leadership.
• Coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly vendor performance reviews.
• Conduct annual Roadmap meetings with vendors.
• Identify system or process improvements and support testing of changes.
