Job summary

Join Vallen in Birmingham, AL as a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator II to deliver and manage inventory at customers' sites, handling storage, distribution and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

You will drive, track orders, perform VMI functions, and maintain accurate inventory levels while supporting 5S standards and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in warehouse, inventory counting or delivery.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company standards.
• Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments.
• Self-starter with ability to work under supervision.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
• Proactive, team-oriented with strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to transport and deliver goods safely per DOT.
• Ensure shipment accuracy and keep customer orders aligned with records.
• Assist with VMI space setup and inventory stocking at customer sites.
• Track orders from pickup to delivery and setup at client sites.
• Process spot buy orders and relay information to CSR or Account Rep.
• Scan barcodes at locations to generate customer orders.
• Maintain VMI points of use: loading, receiving and minor changes.
• Monitor min/max/reorder points and report to management.
• Recommend changes to inventory levels based on usage.
• Keep barcode labels current and notify when replacements are needed.
• Assist with annual/ cycle counts on consigned items.
• Present information and respond to client and manager questions.
• Keep VMI areas organized using 5S principles.
• Perform other duties as requested.
