Andy J Egan Co. is seeking a VDC Layout Detailer to convert coordinated BIM models into fabrication-ready deliverables, focusing on fabrication documentation, detailed install drawings, spool drawings, and shop drawing production to support fabrication and field installation activities.

The role collaborates with VDC Coordinators and Design Leads. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years detailing experience with CADmep, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360, and are willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of detailing experience, mechanical and plumbing preferred.
• Experience creating shop drawings, spool drawings, weld maps, installation packages.
• Ability to read engineered contract drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical, piping, fabrication, and field installation workflows.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work with VDC Coordinators and Designers.
• Excellent communication, organization, planning, and time management.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsabilités

• Produce detailed shop drawings for fabrication and installation.
• Create spool drawings with dimensions, weld locations and fabrication requirements.
• Generate assembly drawings and skid drawings when required.
• Create weld maps and installation package drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and fabrication standards.
• Generate ISO drawings for flushing tests, welder IDs, and related documentation.
• Review spool drawings for dimensional accuracy.
• Validate BOMs against spool drawings and fabrication requirements.
• Respond to fabrication shop questions regarding spool packages.
• Support field installation teams with drawing clarifications and revisions.
• Update fabrication documents to reflect approved changes.
