Job summary

Vistrada is seeking a Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to provide strategic cybersecurity guidance and oversight for clients. You will lead security programs, manage a team of analysts, and act as an external governance extension for client organizations.

The role requires deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, incident response, and risk management, with a focus on delivering comprehensive security roadmaps and remediation plans.

Qualifications

• CISO experience or readiness to perform in the function.
• Expert knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (NIST, ISO, CMMC, PCI, COBIT, DFARS, HIPAA).
• Hands-on incident response coordination and oversight experience.
• Strong understanding of IT risk and components (applications, infrastructure, networks, vendors).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
• Develop and present management-level materials for stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP, or equivalent experience.
• Consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply consultative and leadership skills to build high rapport with clients and team members.
• Provide security advisory, compliance oversight, assessments, and reports (gap analyses, POAM, recommendations, remediation).
• Lead and manage a team of security analysts with oversight and mentoring.
• Provide virtual Chief Information Security Officer services.
• Support clients on a fractional owner model.
• Act as an extension of client’s information security management and governance function.
• Develop, implement, and oversee information security programs.
• Assess and identify requirements for security controls and technologies.
• Develop security roadmaps and plans of action.
• Vendor and third-party risk management and due diligence.
• Develop business continuity and incident response plans.
• Focus on KPIs, metrics, and security dashboards.
• Assist with business development (RFPs, client needs, responses).
• Architect high-quality security solutions for clients.
