Job summary

Posterity Group is staffing the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis with Medical Coders. The role requires precise data entry, meticulous indexing, and verification of medical images within Cerner/Oracle.

Candidates should have active coding credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or equivalent) and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with prior VA or federal healthcare coding preferred. Proficiency in Word and Excel is expected, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Data entry with high accuracy is required.
• Experience with clinical documentation and medical clinics is preferred.
• Active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) is required.
• Familiarity with VA or federal healthcare coding is strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately attaching images to the correct electronic health record elements.
• Verifying images are uploaded legible for viewing.
• Locating FINs and linking documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.
• Indexing documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA on all work before submission.
