Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking a Physician Assistant to conduct Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans, reviewing medical records, performing focused assessments, and rendering objective medical opinions per VA guidelines. Charting from home may be required, with up to 10% travel to other Loyal Source clinics.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold a valid unrestricted Physician Assistant license in all U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or a Commonwealth, territory, or possession.
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Physician Assistant.
• Previous experience in conducting medical disability examinations or a related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required, including renewals.
• Previous military experience or familiarity with the military or veteran communities preferred.
• Completion of specialized training or continuing education in Medical Disability Evaluations, occupational health, or related areas is advantageous.
• Clinical skills: Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence-based medical opinions.
• Empathy and compassion: Must possess a compassionate and empathetic approach toward patients.
• Analytical abilities: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex medical information and reach objective conclusions.
• Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical concepts in clear and understandable terms.
• Ethics and integrity: Uphold ethical standards, maintain objectivity, and ensure fairness in disability evaluations.
• Detail-oriented mindset with emphasis on accuracy, data quality, and alignment with LS and VA standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple initiatives and adapt quickly to business needs.
• Strong customer focus and a sense of urgency in service delivery.
• Authorized to work in the United States including federal contractor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical disability examinations: perform focused evaluations of Veterans and review their medical history.
• Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results to understand health history.
• Render objective medical opinions regarding the extent of disabilities and impact on work and daily activities.
• Document examination findings and recommendations in VA-compliant reports.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and the QA team to obtain necessary information.
• Manage workload and communicate with scheduling and QA for timely exams.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, privacy, and security protocols.
• Travel up to 10% to support other Loyal Source clinics.
