Job summary

MORI Associates is seeking a UX/UI Designer to lead the design of NASA analytics platforms. You will own end-to-end UX strategy, establish the design system, and drive user research for data-centric applications.

You will shape patterns, create dashboards and data visualizations, and collaborate with engineers and scientists to deliver intuitive, data-driven experiences in a fully remote setting. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, UX, or related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
Eight years of related experience in analytics-focused, data-intensive applications.
Strong portfolio showcasing complex data-driven product design.
Expertise in data visualization and communicating technical information clearly through design.
Advanced proficiency with Figma.
Experience creating a design system from the ground up with standards, documentation, and reusable components.
Experience defining user personas and conducting user research that informs product design.
Strong visual design, interaction design, and information architecture skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
US citizenship.

Responsibilities

Build the Design Foundation: maintain design system, establish governance, ensure UI consistency.
Lead User Research & Persona Development: define personas, plan and synthesize research, translate findings into design improvements.
Design Data-Driven Experiences: create high-fidelity mockups and production-ready designs for dashboards, data tables, visualizations, reporting interfaces, analytics platforms, data-exploration workflows.
Transform Data into Insight: design meaningful visuals, adapt visualization approaches to user goals, improve clarity and accessibility.
Drive UX Excellence: develop flows, wireframes, models; defend design recommendations; iterate for usability.
Collaborate Across Disciplines: partner with engineers, data scientists, analysts, researchers, leadership; translate requirements into user-centered solutions.
