Job summary

VDart Inc. is seeking a mid-level UX Designer with accessibility expertise to lead design and evaluation of accessible digital experiences. This role emphasizes WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and inclusive product lifecycles in a remote contract environment.

You will act as the accessibility subject matter expert within the UX team, collaborating with designers, developers, and QA to embed inclusive design practices throughout the product development process.

Qualifications

3–5 years of UX design experience with a focus on digital accessibility.
Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD with accessibility plugins.
Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA/ A, Section 508, and ADA requirements.
Hands-on experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
Portfolio demonstrating inclusive design work and accessibility remediation projects.

Responsibilities

Conduct accessibility audits of web and mobile applications against WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
Design inclusive user interfaces with accessible patterns for navigation, forms, data visualization, and interactive components.
Perform manual testing.
Partner with development and QA teams to remediate accessibility issues and build accessible components.
Create and maintain accessibility design guidelines, annotation standards, and reusable component patterns.
Deliver accessibility training sessions and workshops for design and engineering teams.
Support the scoring model and prioritization of accessibility issues across the application portfolio.
