Job summary

Altais is seeking a Utilization Management Coordinator (Casual) to drive authorization processes and liaise with Ambulatory and Concurrent Care teams. The role focuses on processing authorizations, verifying benefits, and maintaining accurate data within Tapestry and OnBase systems.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in UM or medical office settings, strong MS Office skills, and CPT/HCPCS/ICD coding knowledge. This is a 6-month casual contract with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2 years UM experience, medical billing, or medical office experience.
• 2–3 years Microsoft Office programs experience required.
• Certificate or equivalent in medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding.

Responsibilities

• Manage all incoming authorizations via Tapestry Link portal or OnBase.
• Verify eligibility/benefits and enter data into Tapestry.
• Review authorization requests per established designation and prepare denial letters as needed.
• Contact provider offices for missing clinical documentation for medical review.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and ensure accurate information shared with staff and providers.
• Cross-train with other UM Coordinators to ensure coverage.
