Job summary

ORC's Right of Way team seeks a diligent Utilities Title Agent who will conduct title research, review deeds and related documents, and compile accurate Title Reports from online databases and county courthouses.

You’ll verify ownership, liens, and restrictions, communicate findings clearly to clients, and work from home nationwide with flexible schedules; relocation not provided, benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing titles and title reports.
• Experience verifying property ownerships, mortgages, liens, and judgments; and determining whether restrictions such as delinquent taxes affect title or limit property use.
• Able to identify key information about parcels and communicate it clearly to property owners.
• Proficient with reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, and easements; searching parcel data; and producing a chain of title.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite — Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct real estate title searches using online databases and in-person visits to county courthouses.
• Retrieve and review documents such as deeds, mortgages, contracts, easements, tax cards, and plats.
• Compile accurate findings into client-provided Title Reports, ensuring completeness and reliability of title information.
• Verify and document all relevant instruments required to complete thorough and compliant title searches.
