Job summary

Pathward, National Association is hiring for a USDA loan closing specialist in the United States. The role coordinates with borrowers, guarantors, counsel, brokers, and title companies to move USDA loan closings from approval through funding.

The position requires a high school diploma and 5+ years of related experience, including 2–3 years in Government Guaranteed Lending closings. Hybrid work options are available with strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and customer service.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience.
• 2-3 years of Government Guaranteed Lending closing experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison throughout the USDA loan closing process.
• Coordinate with borrowers, guarantors, legal counsel, brokers, title companies, USDA reps, and vendors.
• Identify and collect all closing documentation including eligibility, environmental, appraisal, collateral, and guarantee requirements.
• Prepare, review, and finalize loan documents with counsel to satisfy all closing conditions.
• Monitor timelines, identify delays, and drive actions to close within service level expectations.
• Review approvals and ensure closing documents reflect approved credit structures and USDA requirements.
• Provide status updates, resolve issues, and escalate risks as needed.
• Ensure collateral, title, insurance, entity, and perfection requirements are completed before funding.
• Coordinate post-closing delivery and support loan sale and guarantee applications as applicable.
• Develop relationships with customers, USDA personnel, attorneys, and partners for efficient closings.
• Assist training and mentoring of Closing Team members.
• Support process improvement, reporting, and compliance in USDA lending operations.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
