Job summary

Talentedge is seeking a US Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end semi-monthly payroll in a fast-growing technology company. You will collaborate with Finance and People teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery while driving automation and AI initiatives.

You will manage multi-state payroll, reconciliations, month-end close, and payroll journals, while optimizing processes and maintaining data integrity across HRIS.

Qualifications

  • Experience processing US payroll end-to-end.
  • Strong multi-state payroll experience and understanding of US payroll compliance.
  • Experience performing payroll reconciliations at both payroll and state level.
  • Strong month-end finance exposure, including accruals, reconciliations and payroll journals.
  • Experience preparing and processing payroll journal entries.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end semi-monthly US payroll accurately and on time.
  • Manage multi-state payroll operations, including state registrations, tax compliance, deductions, garnishments and final pay requirements.
  • Perform state-level and payroll-level reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies.
  • Review payroll reports and validate payroll balances prior to processing.
  • Prepare and process payroll journal entries as part of the month-end close.
  • Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and support payroll accruals.
  • Partner closely with Finance on month-end reporting and payroll accounting.
  • Support payroll audits, compliance reviews and internal controls.
  • Maintain payroll data integrity across payroll and HRIS platforms.
  • Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries and escalations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and operational efficiency.
  • Support payroll transformation projects, including automation and AI-driven process improvements.
  • Help automate manual payroll tasks, reconciliations, reporting and validation.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors on payroll systems, integrations and enhancements.
