Job summary

Zapp is hiring a hands-on US Category Manager, Strategic Sourcing to build and scale the US supply chain from the ground up, covering freight forwarding, warehousing, import compliance and relabeling. This rare zero-to-one role requires a self-starter who can spot brands, negotiate terms and own relationships with US suppliers.

You will travel across the US and to London as needed, sourcing brands customers want and turning the operation into a repeatable, efficient process.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying, category management or supply chain.
• Experience building or running international supply chains; US-to-UK import exposure is a plus.
• Commercial instinct: able to source brands and negotiate terms.
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making.
• High-energy self-starter thriving in ambiguity.
• Tenacious communicator who can influence internally and externally.
• Willingness to travel across the US and to London when needed.

Responsibilities

• Spot emerging US brands and decide which belong in the Zapp range.
• Build and own relationships with US brands and suppliers.
• Negotiate cost, delivery and payment terms to protect margins.
• Own end-to-end logistics from the US to UK DC including freight, warehousing, customs and relabeling.
• Stand up processes, partners and controls to scale the US supply chain.
• Forecast demand and plan buys using sales trends to minimize stockouts and excess.
• Ensure products meet UK food safety, labeling and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Buying, Marketing, Merchandising and Operations for a coherent offer.
