Job summary

National Grid in the United States is seeking a high-caliber Cross-Regional Category Manager for MRO, Logistics and Investment Recovery. This hybrid role reports to the Head of Category & Procurement Business Partner and oversees sourcing across US and UK portfolios, including PPE, warehousing, and asset recovery.

You will lead category strategies, drive supplier engagement, and ensure compliant, value-realizing procurement while coordinating with regional stakeholders and legal/finance partners

Qualifications

• Significant procurement experience with category strategies and complex sourcing.
• Category management across MRO, Logistics and related service areas.
• Experience leading cross-regional teams and recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Own development and refresh of category strategies for US and UK MRO, Logistics and Investment Recovery.
• Build category plans reflecting regional needs and cross-regional opportunities.
• Define scope, demand profiles, market dynamics and risks with data-driven insights.
• Lead strategies for MRO to improve spend visibility and supplier consolidation.
• Lead logistics strategies across warehousing, freight and international moves.
• Drive value recovery routes for investment recovery and end-of-life assets.
• Translate strategies into sourcing and contract-management plans with governance.
• Oversee sourcing delivery portfolio with appropriate prioritization and resources.
• Provide direction across tendering, negotiation and contract awards.
• Manage risks and stakeholder decisions across regions to protect timelines.
• Ensure smooth handover into contract management with clear KPIs and governance.
• Develop strategic supplier relationships for performance and resilience.
• Lead, motivate and develop a geographically dispersed US/UK team.
