Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking a part-time, fully remote Supervising Physician based in South Carolina to oversee APPs and provide clinical support. You will ensure adherence to clinical standards, review cases, and co-sign documentation as required.

A SC license and board eligibility or certification are essential. As the supervising physician, you will participate in quality reviews, guide treatment plans, and support APPs during orientation and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets credentialing requirements for Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely clinical consultation and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Provide clinical guidance and review cases requiring physician involvement and escalation.
• Co-sign APP documentation when required by law or policy.
• Support orientation for newly hired or credentialed APPs during supervision periods.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the provider’s scope of supervision and prescriptive authority.
• Serve as Supervising Physician for assigned centers on certain days.
