Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is hiring a Remote Supervising Physician to provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in accordance with state laws and Prisma Health Urgent Care policies. This fully remote role requires the physician to reside in South Carolina and to maintain SC licensure, DEA registration, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration is required.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (provided if needed).
• Meets credentialing requirements for Prisma Health Urgent Care/WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Offer clinical consultation and guidance during supervision periods.
• Review and cosign APP documentation as required by law and policy.
• Support new APPs during orientation and credentialing.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Ensure supervision within the provider's scope of practice and credentialing rules.
