Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking a Remote Supervising Physician to oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support in accordance with South Carolina laws and Prisma Health policies. The role includes supervising, cosigning documentation, and guiding APP practice during orientation and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Review and cosign APP documentation when required by law or policy.
• Provide clinical direction and escalation recommendations as needed.
• Support APP practice within the provider's scope of supervision and prescriptive authority.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
