Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care seeks a remote Supervising Physician to oversee APPs, provide clinical guidance, and ensure compliance with SC medical board requirements. The physician will be assigned a formal supervising relationship and will oversee APPs remotely while residing in South Carolina.

The role emphasizes clinical oversight, documentation review, and quality improvement participation. Board-certified or board eligible with SC license and active DEA is required; urgent care or emergency

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and SC license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies (X-rays, ECGs).
• BLS certification (we will provide if needed).
• Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and APP supervision.
• Offer clinical guidance, review high-risk cases.
• Cosign APP documentation as required.
• Provide orientation support for new APPs.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review.
• Support APP practice within scope and prescriptive authority.
