Job summary

EMC offers a summer paid internship in one of our branch underwriting departments. You will assist underwriters in gathering information needed to evaluate new business and renewals, communicating with agents, and others as needed.

You will learn EMC culture, processes and products while gaining an understanding of the underwriting process. The role can be performed remotely for candidates residing in CT, MA, or RI, with a chance to grow within our underwriting teams and gain valuable insurance

Qualifications

• Business major in insurance, marketing or finance.
• Completion of junior year preferred.
• Interest in property casualty insurance career.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Summer paid internship in one of EMC’s branch underwriting departments.
• Assists underwriters in obtaining information to evaluate new business and renewal submissions, including correspondence with agents and outside sources.
• Learns EMC culture, processes and products.
• Gains an understanding of the insurance underwriting process.
