Job summary

EMC Insurance offers a summer paid internship in its underwriting department. You will assist underwriters by gathering information from agents and other sources while learning EMC’s culture, processes, and products.

This internship can be performed remotely for candidates residing in CT, MA, or RI, providing exposure to the underwriting workflow, analysis, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Business major, preferably in insurance, marketing or finance.
• Junior year completion preferred.
• Interest in property casualty insurance career.
• GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assists underwriters in obtaining information needed to properly evaluate new business and renewal submissions.
• Communicates with agents and other outside sources.
• Learns EMC culture, business processes and products.
• Gains an understanding of the insurance underwriting process.
