Job summary

The Westcor Land Title Insurance Company seeks an experienced Underwriting Counsel in Tennessee to analyze title risks, provide underwriting solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance across residential and limited commercial transactions.

Applicants should hold a J.D., be admitted to the Tennessee Bar, and have at least three years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of Tennessee real property law and the title insurance industry.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required and TN Bar in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Tennessee real property and title insurance.
• Strong knowledge of Tennessee real property law and title insurance industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze title insurance risks, underwriting issues, and regulatory concerns.
• Provide underwriting solutions to agents, sales team, and title examiners per guidelines and law.
• Handle residential and limited commercial underwriting.
• Present training seminars for title agents and production staff.
• Deliver outstanding customer service while making underwriting decisions.
• Respond to underwriting inquiries by email and phone promptly.
• Travel with sales staff for agent visits across the state.
• Collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
