Job summary

Westcor Land Title Insurance Company is seeking an Underwriting Counsel for Tennessee. The role analyzes title risks, provides underwriting solutions, and ensures compliance across residential and limited commercial transactions.

Training seminars will be delivered to agents and staff, online and on-site. The ideal candidate holds a J.D., has at least 3 years of Tennessee real property/title experience, and is in good standing with the TN Bar.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of Tennessee real property and title insurance experience.
• Member in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
• Strong knowledge of Tennessee real property law and the title insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze title insurance risks and underwriting issues.
• Provide underwriting solutions to agents, sales team, and title examiners per Westcor guidelines and law.
• Handle residential and limited commercial transactions underwriting.
• Present training seminars to educate title agents and staff (online and in person).
• Provide outstanding customer service while making sound underwriting decisions.
• Manage a high volume of underwriting inquiries via email and phone.
• Analyze and respond to indemnity requests.
• Travel with sales staff for agent visits across the state.
• Work effectively in a remote team environment.
