Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Underground Transmission Designer to join our Energy practice in a remote role based anywhere in the United States. You will lead the design and delivery of underground transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and grid modernization projects while collaborating with some of the industry’s top engineering professionals.

Qualifications

BA/BS in engineering or related field with related experience is required.
Demonstrated experience supporting transmission and distribution substation projects.
Proven knowledge of electrical engineering principles and power delivery systems.

Responsibilities

Lead design of transmission and distribution substation projects for utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients.
Provide technical guidance across project phases from planning to construction.
Stay current with evolving technologies, industry standards, and utility practices related to substations, grid modernization, and power delivery systems.
Mentor engineers and designers while supporting technical development and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and ensure client satisfaction.
