Job summary

Fieldstone A&E in Tampa, FL is seeking a Truss Repair Designer to develop repair designs for roof and floor trusses. You will work with Architects, Engineers, and field personnel to produce accurate drawings and calculations, ensuring code compliance and high quality results.

The role requires experience in wood truss design, strong math skills, and proficiency with MiTek SE and AutoCAD. Flexible scheduling and a fast-paced environment are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Experience with wood truss systems and repair design methods.
• Familiarity with IRC/IBC/ASCE7/NDS/ANSI/TPI standards.
• Strong math skills for load calculations and design.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Design repairs for residential and commercial roof and floor trusses based on photos and documents.
• Prepare clear repair drawings, details and calculations for field use.
• Review conditions and develop repair solutions meeting codes and standards.
• Communicate with clients and project partners to gather information and clarify requirements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
