Job summary

Swift Supply, Inc. is seeking a Truss Repair Associate to perform field repairs on wood roof and floor trusses according to approved drawings and specifications. You will read blueprints, measure and cut materials, and install components at residential or commercial job sites.

The role requires rough‑framing skills, the ability to work safely at heights, and strong communication with customers and team members. This is an hourly, field‑based position with travel to multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have rough‑framing, carpentry, or equivalent construction skills.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, and repair details.
• Must be capable of safely operating various hand and power tools, including Skilsaws/circular saws, reciprocating saws, drills, impact drills/drivers, and Porta Press equipment.
• Must be able to accurately read and understand measurements; proficiency with a tape measure is critical.
• Must follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to complete required paperwork accurately.
• Must be comfortable meeting and communicating with customers on a regular basis.
• Must be dependable and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be able to travel to assigned job sites.
• Must have reliable attendance and be able to report to job sites as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and modifications to wood roof and floor trusses according to approved repair drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Read, understand, and accurately follow blueprints, truss repair details, and construction drawings.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install lumber, plywood/OSB, repair materials, fasteners, and other components as specified.
• Perform work requiring rough‑framing and general carpentry skills.
• Safely operate power and hand tools including circular saws, reciprocating saws, drills, and impact drivers.
• Accurately read measurements and transfer to repair materials.
• Access and perform repairs in attics, on roofs, and elevated or confined work areas.
• Climb and work from ladders; travel to job sites as required.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
