Job summary

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Truss Designer to create floor and roof truss placement plans, design drawings, and quotes. You will provide technical support to customers and sales reps, interpret blueprints, and ensure accurate shop paperwork for manufacturing.

The role requires proficiency with proprietary construction design software, CAD/drafting tools, and MS Office/Mitek. Strong attention to detail and independent judgment are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of company products to determine appropriate structural applications.
• Proficiency with proprietary software for construction design.
• Strong attention to detail and precise measurements.
• Use of discretion and independent judgment on significant matters.
• Mathematics and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of drafting, architectural design or CAD applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Mitek Software.

Responsibilities

• Produce floor and roof truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes using blueprints and customer requirements.
• Determine design specifications based on blueprints and structural design needs.
• Review other designers work to reduce design errors before manufacturing paperwork.
• Create shop paperwork that is optimized and batch for efficiency based on equipment.
• Communicate with customers, general contractors, and sales staff on technical plans and clarifications; document communications.
• Consult with experienced technicians and management for in-depth analysis.
• Plan and pace work to meet productivity goals.
• Observe safety procedures and participate in safety meetings; suggest improvements to safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
