Job summary

84 Lumber is seeking a US-based remote Truss Designer with 2–5 years of MiTek experience to deliver accurate, optimized roof and floor truss designs. You will collaborate with Sales, Production, and Customers to ensure project success while working from home.

Designs will use MiTek software to interpret blueprints, optimize for structure and cost, specify hardware, and maintain project documentation. You will manage multiple projects, participate in design reviews, and help drive continuous

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of truss design experience using MiTek software.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of residential and light commercial wood framing and current building codes.

Responsibilities

• Design roof and floor truss systems using MiTek engineering software.
• Interpret architectural and structural blueprints to create truss layouts.
• Prepare and submit truss approval packages and customer documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Estimators, Production, and Customers to resolve design challenges.
• Manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
