Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is expanding its Consulting practice and seeks a Manager to deliver accounting services and grants management for Tribal government clients. You will provide monthly close, reporting, and policy development, working with client teams to implement improvements.

The role involves collaboration across the firm, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and occasional travel to client sites or trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional client service across multiple channels.
• Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Self-directed, collaborative, and able to build trusted relationships across functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing and grants management.
• Prepares polished deliverables and ensures timely client delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to improve processes and update policies.
• Initiates project start-up activities and tracks schedules.
• Supports audit readiness and client audits as needed.
• Contributes to growing the practice and mentoring others.
• Reviews team work for accuracy and completeness.
• Travels to client locations or trainings as needed (approx. 10–15%).
