Job summary

Ghidotti Berger LLP seeks a Remote Trial Managing Attorney to own the Florida trial docket and lead the trial team. You will carry a personal Florida caseload while supervising the trial function, assigning matters, and ensuring readiness for trial, with travel within Florida as settings require.

The role requires extensive Florida civil litigation and trial experience, supervisory skills, and a proven ability to manage risk and provide candid assessments to leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active Florida license in good standing.
• Extensive civil litigation and trial experience in Florida state courts, including cases through verdict or judgment.
• Prior supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, discovery, motion practice, and trial practice.
• Mortgage foreclosure, creditors' rights, or default servicing litigation experience; familiarity with servicer/investor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry a designated caseload of litigated matters set for trial in Florida state and federal courts.
• Review pleadings, discovery, motion practice, testimony, and strategy with file attorney.
• Determine further discovery, evidence, witnesses, or motions needed and prepare the case for trial.
• Appear at pre-trial conferences, hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial, traveling within Florida as needed.
• Supervise the Florida trial attorney team, including assignments, coverage, and workload balance.
• Set and enforce trial readiness standards and conduct readiness reviews.
• Mentor junior attorneys, provide training, and develop trial standards/templates.
