Job summary

The Children's Aid Society in New York is seeking a Therapeutic Case Planner to support families affected by intimate partner violence. You will conduct safety-focused assessments, develop intervention plans, and activate change to stabilize children’s health, safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include maintaining a 10–11 family caseload, providing crisis intervention, advocacy across child welfare and legal systems, and participating in TF-CBT training to support trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work is required.
• Experience providing services to families affected by IPV preferred.
• License eligibility preferred.
• Training/experience working with NYC ACS child welfare involved families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain a caseload of 10-11 families with a minimum of two face-to-face contacts per month.
• Attend all trainings as required and complete TF-CBT training.
• Utilize TF-CBT skills to assist families in dealing with their trauma.
• Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling/education, safety assessments and re-assessments.
• Provide advocacy in the child welfare, public benefits, law enforcement, and legal/family court system.
• Assist clients in applying for emergency financial assistance and accessing services.
• Be available by phone 24/7 or as needed to respond to client crises.
