Job summary

Civil Science, Inc. is seeking a driven Transportation Design Division Manager in North Dakota to lead and grow the transportation design practice. The role is remote-friendly but requires ND residency.

You will guide project managers, oversee multiple projects, and contribute to business development while upholding technical excellence. As a 100% employee-owned firm, Civil Science rewards ownership and a culture of collaboration, ownership, and excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
PE license for North Dakota is required.
10+ years in transportation design or related infrastructure.
Experience managing teams and leading complex projects.
Strong knowledge of project management (budgeting, scheduling, QA/QC).
Experience working with public agency clients (NDDOT).
Proficiency in relevant design and production tools.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division, including project managers and design staff.
Oversee multiple transportation design projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget performance.
Serve as a senior client contact for transportation-related work.
Support and drive business development efforts, including client relationships and pursuits.
Collaborate with leadership to grow the transportation division and expand market presence.
Mentor and develop staff, fostering a strong team culture and technical excellence.
Ensure QA/QC processes are applied consistently across projects.
Balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in project oversight.
