Job summary

Civil Science, Inc. seeks a driven Transportation Design Division Manager to lead and grow our ND transportation design practice in Williston. This role blends technical leadership with client-facing oversight and an equity stake in a 100% employee-owned firm.

You will guide project managers, oversee multiple projects, drive quality, and help expand our market presence while mentoring staff and ensuring QA/QC across deliveries in a growing regional market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a North Dakota PE license.
• 10+ years in transportation design or related infrastructure.
• Experience leading teams and complex projects.
• Strong project management, budgeting, scheduling, QA/QC.
• Experience with ND DOT and public agency clients.
• Proficiency in relevant design and production tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division, including PMs and staff.
• Oversee multiple projects ensuring quality, schedule, and budget.
• Serve as senior client contact for transportation work.
• Support business development and client pursuits.
• Collaborate with leadership to grow division and market presence.
• Mentor staff and foster team culture and technical excellence.
• Ensure QA/QC processes and high-quality project delivery.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight.
