Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Remote Transport Planner to join a national logistics team. This fully remote role focuses on designing and optimizing transportation routes and schedules to ensure cost-effective delivery across South Africa.

You will leverage advanced planning software and data analysis to improve performance, coordinate with dispatch and fleet teams, and report on transportation metrics. A strong background in transport planning and TMS is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Transport Planning or a similar logistics role.
• Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent understanding of logistics principles and South African transportation networks.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimal transportation routes and schedules considering delivery time windows, vehicle capacity, and traffic conditions.
• Utilize transport planning software and data analytics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Coordinate with dispatch teams and fleet managers to ensure seamless execution of planned routes.
• Monitor real-time transport operations, making necessary adjustments to schedules to address unforeseen issues.
• Analyze transportation performance data and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.
