Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Power Transformer Commissioning Specialist for North America. The role focuses on erection, commissioning, and maintenance of PTR systems, collaborating with client teams and GE engineering.

It requires extensive travel, with long on-site rotations and potential 24/7 support during project lifecycles. Typical duties include on-site commissioning, equipment operation, and development of service procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of field experience with power transformers or related eBOP equipment.
Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
Mechanical experience via technical training or military service encouraged.
Experience with Doble and/or Omicron test equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site commissioning for transformer installations, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades.
Assist on-site resources and subcontracted services.
Attend daily tailboards with crew and customer resources.
Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns.
Operate vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment.
Oversee field test/commissioning of units.
Develop and improve standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance.
Prepare and submit technical documents.
Collaborate with customers to develop inspection criteria related to transformer services.
