Job summary

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company is seeking experienced Title Examiner/Abstractors to join its rapidly growing team and perform title research across West Virginia. You will research public records, compile and summarize chains of title, interpret deeds and easements, prepare title commitments, and identify defects while maintaining high accuracy.

Travel is required to multiple courthouses statewide; a real estate license is a plus, with strong Office software skills and the ability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of title experience and mineral title knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, flow chart software, and deed plotting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to travel throughout the state to courthouses.
• Real estate license a plus; acquisition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company, one of the fastest-growing land management and acquisition agencies in the country, is currently accepting applications for experienced Title Examiner/Abstractors in West Virginia.

Here are some of the things you'll be doing:

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title
• Knowledge of researching public records
• Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership
• Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments
• Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies

Here's what we are looking for

• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses
• 5+ years of title experience
• Experience completing complex mineral title
• Real Estate License a plus
• Acquisition experience preferred
