Job summary

System One is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Analysis Engineer for a 6-month contract. The position is fully remote within the United States, offering hourly pay between $52 and $85.

Responsibilities include model development/modification for reactor structures, evaluating configurations, and providing design feedback to engineers. Requires a BS in mechanical engineering, 5–10 years' experience, and familiarity with ASME BPVC Section III; PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant experience where applicable; PE desired.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Experience with ASME BPVC Section III, Division 1 and high temperature applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal model development or modification for reactor structures and evaluate thermal profiles.
• Assess configurations and joints for identified challenges or modifications.
• Collaborate with design leads and analysis engineers to develop or modify local models and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
• Model thermal fluid-structure interfaces including conduction, convection, radiation, and sodium-structure heat transfer modes.
• Prepare or verify Safety Related calculations (Quality Level 1) as required by the client.
• Work within the client's analysis suite and adopt established models and methods.
• Undergo qualification indoctrination to the client's quality program and perform preparation or verification activities.
