Job summary

AAPC seeks a Texas Licensed Coding Auditor for a full-time remote Inpatient Coding Auditor, Senior Associate role. You will perform coding reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy per established guidelines and provide training to new auditors.

Responsibilities include audits of documentation to verify diagnoses and procedures, achieving productivity and quality standards, and mentoring junior coders in coding methodologies such as ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold AHIMA or AAPC credential (CPC/CCS/COC/RHIA/RHIT).
• 3+ years inpatient or outpatient coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and DRG systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of medical record documentation to verify the accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes, adhering to official coding guidelines.
• Achieve productivity and quality performance standards set by management while cross-training to review multiple claim types.
• Assist in training new Coding Auditors through monitoring, mentoring, and providing feedback and education.
