Job summary

System One is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support functional, regression, API, security, and automated testing for IRS applications. This remote contract-to-hire role focuses on test design, automation, defect management, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of testing experience, active IRS MBI, and IRS-issued government furnished equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of software testing or QA experience.
• Active IRS MBI and current IRS government furnished equipment.
• Experience with functional, regression, API, and automation testing.
• Experience developing and executing test cases and scripts.
• Familiarity with test planning, defect management, and quality engineering processes.
• Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and Git.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum delivery teams and strong communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with client stakeholders at varying levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, regression, API, security, and automated testing.
• Develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
• Support test automation strategies and maintain automated scripts.
• Assist with test data preparation and environment configuration.
• Identify, document, and report software defects.
• Analyze testing results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and quality improvement activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts, and clients.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
