Job summary

3M Consultancy is seeking a Senior Automation Tester to support an IRS code modernization project. You will plan, build, and run tests to ensure new code is fast, secure, and reliable, working with developers to create test plans and scripts.

You will set up environments, run manual and automated tests, log defects, and participate in the full SDLC and CI/CD processes. Experience with API testing, SQL, and non-functional testing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred (more experience required if no degree).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical people.
• Good time management and teamwork skills.
• Experience writing and executing test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with backend testing, CI/CD, and the overall software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and turn them into clear test plans and test cases.
• Set up test environments and run both manual and automated tests.
• Log and track defects, and work with the team to get them fixed.
• Perform regression and acceptance testing to ensure everything works as expected.
• Support backend testing, including APIs and databases (SQL is a plus).
• Work with automation tools like Selenium or Cypress.
• Take part in the full software development lifecycle and CI/CD process.
• Help improve testing processes and contribute to better software quality.
• Bonus: experience with non-functional testing (Accessibility, Performance, Security) is a plus.
