UTHealth Houston's McGovern Medical School seeks a Telepsychiatrist (Clinical Faculty) to provide services to inpatient facilities across Texas. This remote position supports work from home or a local office, with weekday hours and no after-hours on-call.

The role involves diagnosis, treatment, supervision, and court-related testimony via telehealth, contributing to clinical education and quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree required.
• Licensed or license eligible in the State of Texas.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in general psychiatry, child & adolescent psychiatry, or geriatric psychiatry, or completed accredited training in the US.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate, diagnose, prescribe, and supervise treatment to assigned patients per hospital bylaws and SSLC policies.
• Assess admissions unit patients for admission to state hospital(s) or SSLC.
• Round with the treatment team daily to review patients.
• Meet weekly with patients as clinically indicated.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and attend monthly meetings.
• Telemedicine duties Mon–Fri 8–5; no evening or weekend on-call.
• Evaluate and document commitments and court-ordered medications; provide testimony via telehealth.

Formation

MD or equivalent degree

Licensed or license eligible in Texas

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry or related subspecialties
