UTHealth Houston's Louis A. Faillace, MD Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is recruiting a Telepsychiatrist (Clinical Faculty) to provide remote psychiatry services to inpatient facilities across Texas. The role is fully telemedicine, working from home or a local office.

You will evaluate and treat patients, participate in rounds, attend monthly meetings, and be available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with no on-call evenings or weekends; testimony in court via telehealth

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree and board certification/eligibility in psychiatry.
• Licensed or license eligible in Texas.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry and telepsychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, prescribe and supervise treatment for assigned patients.
• Assess admissions units for admission to state hospitals or SSLC.
• Round with the treatment team daily to review patients.
• Meet with patients weekly as clinically indicated.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and attend monthly meetings.
• Be on telemedicine duty 8-5, Mon-Fri with no evenings or weekends on-call.
• Provide testimony in court via telehealth when required.
