Job summary

Buckley Cable Construction is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Billing Specialist with a strong understanding of HFC and FDX construction. You will review field work and documents, validate billable units, and coordinate with Operations to ensure timely invoicing.

Ideal candidates understand the translation from field production to customer billing and can manage multiple projects while maintaining accurate records. Remote role with focus on telecom billing workflows.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with telecommunications construction billing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HFC construction and/or FDX network construction required.
• Understanding of common aerial and underground telecommunications construction activities and billing units.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints, designs, maps, work orders, and field documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in quantities and supporting documentation.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of projects and billing items simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.
• Experience working with construction management, customer portal, or billing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process billing for completed OSP telecommunications construction projects.
• Review completed work for billing accuracy and completeness.
• Handle FDX and HFC construction billing.
• Validate billable construction units, quantities, footage, materials, and rate codes.
• Compare field production with designs, maps, work orders, and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing or incorrect billing information before invoices are submitted.
• Work with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Construction Coordinators, and staff to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Verify that required documentation supports billed units.
• Track completed work not yet billed to prevent revenue aging or missed charges.
• Maintain accurate billing records and project documentation.
• Research rejected or disputed billing and coordinate corrections.
• Assist with reconciliation between production, customer-approved quantities, and invoiced amounts.
• Follow customer-specific billing procedures and keep documentation organized for reviews and audits.
• Communicate outstanding billing issues to Operations promptly.
