Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services in North America is seeking a Designer to perform detailed OSP and fiber network designs for telecom projects, collaborating with the engineering team to create constructible GPON layouts using AutoCAD and related tools.

The role involves 90% home-based work with occasional travel (<25%), and requires 3+ years of experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate with construction staff and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe.
• GIS is a plus.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment
