Job summary

Ledcor Group is seeking a Designer for Ledcor Technical Services to design outside plant (OSP) fiber and copper networks for telecom projects, including FTTH deployments. You’ll collaborate with engineering and construction teams, perform field checks, and prepare BOMs and quotes.

The role blends office and field work with occasional travel, transitioning to full-time in-office in Florence, KY as the new location becomes operational. A strong AutoCAD and GIS background is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
• GIS skills are a plus.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

About the Role

As a Designer at Ledcor Technical Services, you will be responsible for the detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements (aerial and/or underground) and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. You’ll work closely with the engineering team to create constructible GPON network designs using various tools, collaborating with design and construction teams under the guidance of the Design Manager. This role involves both office and field work, supporting construction staff with safety and quality control.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments.
• Work with power companies and design power routes and one‑line schematics.
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes.
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records.

Work Conditions

• Office‑based (90%) with occasional travel (<25%).
