Job summary

Hexagon AB, Division Portable Metrology, seeks a Technical Sales Specialist to support the Southeast United States. The role focuses on metrology demonstrations, software and hardware integrations, and customer training in a highly travel‑intensive environment.

The ideal candidate will navigate pre‑ and post‑sales activities, lead onsite engagements, and collaborate with engineering teams to translate field feedback into product improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, metrology, or related technical field.
• Hands‑on experience with one or more: Laser trackers, Portable CMM arms, Handheld scanners.
• Practical application of GD&T in manufacturing environments.
• Comfortable with 60%+ travel, including multi‑day onsite visits.
• Ability to manage schedule, logistics, and customer engagements independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting to small and mid‑sized customer groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hardware and software demonstrations showcasing metrology workflows, functionality, and performance.
• Provide application‑specific technical support to prospective and existing customers.
• Lead onsite customer visits including troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and training.
• Support regional sales team with technical recommendations and application guidance.
• Develop and optimize measurement programs and applications to meet customer specifications.
• Manage minor programming and turnkey tasks independently.
• Prepare detailed technical input for quotations and proposals.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues from the initial problem statement through final resolution and follow‑up.
• Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions and technical support activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to communicate customer feedback and field insights.
• Stay current with advancements in metrology technologies and software capabilities.
