Job summary

UL Research Institutes, within the Digital Safety Research Institute (DSRI), is seeking a Technical Program Manager for a REMOTE opportunity. You will plan, execute, and close projects, coordinating engineers, researchers, and sponsors to meet scope, budget, and quality requirements.

Define objectives, gather requirements, lead cross‑functional teams, and manage risks and changes. Strong leadership, communication, and a software background are essential; PMP/Agile certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science and 3+ years as a software engineer.
• PMP or equivalent certification with 4+ years in product/program management.
• Agile certifications (ScrumMaster) and Six Sigma certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria and develop plans with schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Collaborate with engineering leads, research leadership, and external partners to gather requirements and establish clear communication.
• Coordinate and lead cross‑functional project teams, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timelines and quality.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Manage changes to scope, schedule, and resources with change control processes.
• Escalate critical risks and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with policies, sponsor requirements, data-handling expectations, and open‑source release processes.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide status reports on milestones and decisions.
• Balance internal Digital Safety tasks with UL‑wide assignments and manage feedback.
• Facilitate effective communication among team members and conduct reviews for continuous improvement.
• Document outcomes, successes, and challenges for future reference.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
