Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Technical Manager in the Dams Group to lead structural design staff on dams, waterfront improvements, and heavy civil projects. The role emphasizes advanced analysis, code compliance, and construction-phase engineering across a global firm.

You will guide investigations, develop design concepts, and deliver concrete, steel, and timber solutions while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. A PI/PE license and 15+ years in structural design are expected.

Qualifications

BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and a Professional Engineer license.
15+ years of experience with focus on structural design.
Experience in analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel frame structures.
Knowledge of bulkheads, piers, cofferdams, and shoring systems.
Familiarity with major design codes and standards for complex structures.
Proficiency with STAAD PRO, GT STRUDL or equivalent FEM tools, and MathCAD/Enercalc.

Responsibilities

Perform evaluation, analysis, design, and construction phase review of dams and hydraulic appurtenant structures; include waterfront structures and heavy civil works.
Conduct site inspections and field activities at dams, waterfronts, culverts and related facilities.
Compile data and develop narratives for inspection reports, design basis, and analysis summaries.
Assist in developing design concepts, criteria, methodologies, and constructability reviews.
Prepare detailed design calculations, computations, plans, and specifications; perform QA/QC and value engineering.
Engage with professional societies to stay current with standards and technologies.
